Pets

I like to rear fishes (but I dislike any kind of big fishes) and I got 2 fish tanks at home. A small one I rear with the little cute Guppy and the other medium tank I rear the Neon Tetra. You know what, I like to rear and feed the fishes but when come to tank cleaning; my poor hubby is the one that need to do the cleaning job...hah!

Besides fishes, I do like to rear birds (of course a small birds, not the big one). Any type of birds with colourful and small in size will be fine with me. Too bad, I can’t rear birds because I’m staying in an apartment where it is kind of messy and smelly to have birds in my house, agree? Moreover, hubby is not going to help me clean the faeces, anyway.

I get to know via internet that The Bird Cage Depot has a wide range of Bird Cages sell in their store; from the Small Bird Cages to Large Bird Cages; from simple to fancy in design! Besides, they do selling Bird Toys, bird cage accessories and bird supplements. See, nowadays; to own a pet is not an easy job; it is just like taking care of a baby, agree?

Go Natural And Stay Healthy With Omega 8006 Juicer

I was planning to buy a unit of juicer for myself but still cannot decide which brand to go for as there are so many types of juicers available in the market. So during my free time, I log on to internet to look-see…look-see for comments and feedback related to juicers. Anyway, I’d like to share a webpage that I stumble on during my search via internet that is purelyjuicers.com. They have a lot of great juicers sell in the store and the juicers can be categorized into Wheatgrass Juicers, Fruit and Vegetable juicers and Citrus juicers. And total they have 9 brands of juicers available, namely are Green Star, Samson, Omega, Champion, Solo Star, L’Equip, Waring, CitriStar Citrus and Z-Star Manual.

By reading the website, actually I learn one thing…I learned that the Fruit and Vegetable juicer is what I need to look for because hubby and I more prefer to drink juice blend from fruits and veggies. For those who like to know more on how to prepare any juice blend, just hit the link, juicer recipes here.

From the website, I quite interested with Omega 8006 Juicer that it claims to be a juicer that can juice anything! Be it wheatgrass and roots, fruits and veggies; it also works like a food processor where we can make pate, nut butter, ground spices, minced herbs and home-made pasta. It is a wonderful addition to our kitchen, don’t you think so!

Handmade Clay Fishes

Last Saturday during our (me and hubby) shopping at Queensbay Mall, we stumbled on this cute handmade clay thingy. The girls make all those by own self and sell it to people. She makes a few different designs with different photo frame size. And each of them is with different price too!

Well, hubby bought one to present to his best friend, Hien who resides in United States.

This is the front view of the design. The fishes are made by clay. These are Koi fishes where they are "feng shui" fish. This photo frame is with size 18cm X 34cm.

This is showing side view of the frame.

We also purchase these key chains for Hien and Tina (husband and wife). This is the front side of the key chain. The pink wording will be given to the wife while the blue one is for the husband. Pink wording is mean peace and healthy. And the blue wording is mean smooth sailing. This key chain is with size 2cm X 4cm.

This is the back part of the key chain and we ask the girl to glue the husband and wife name on. Oh yah! The key chain wording is made by wood not clay.

Do you think these items are nice?

My Birthday Dinner 2009

What is our next programme after I wake up last Sunday evening? Hehehehe…sure is “eating” again because it is near dinner time already! And that was my birthday dinner celebration that we’ve decided and planning (in advance one week) to dine and celebrate at Tong Hoi Seafood Restaurant (on 28 June) which located inside the Lone Pine Country Club, Paya Terubong. We both never had been to this restaurant before, so it is our first time trying out the food there.

This is the sign board of the restaurant name in Chinese. It is located besides the main entrance of the restaurant.

This is some part of the view inside the restaurant. I purposely project the vacant corner.

Dish#1 - It is the “pao chi” (in hokkien dialect) – shark’s fin soup that served together with bean sprouts and “daun sup”. Well, “pao chi” is a whole big piece of shark fin. This dish is the most expensive among all the dishes that we ordered.

Dish#2 - Wow! This is my favorite fish – the cod fish. This dish is the 2nd expensive among all.

Dish#3 - Sorry, I do not know how to call this bean.

Dish#4 - These are the river-prawns. Wow, this one is super tasty! And is the 3rd expensive among all.

So, dishes #2-4 is served with steam rice.

Lastly, our dessert is “suik kap” (Hasma in English) drinks. It is cooked with jujubes fruits and lotus seeds.

Well, after finish eating, what next? Sure is making payment right. We both guess, this should be a costly meal…but to our surprise, when the bill come, the price is just so reasonable as compared to the expensive food that we ordered. We will for sure come for next round for other occasion in future!

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thanks my dear hubby for arranging all those nice food (lunch and dinner) for me - during my big day...muak muak!

My Birthday Lunch 2009

Continue my weekend story; well Saturday we have movie watching and Sunday (28 Jun 09), we both have plenty of programme’s ON! Why??????? Well, it is my birthday – ma!
Since we need to hunt for food during lunch hour, hubby decided to go Johnny’s (at Queensbay Mall) to have steamboat as he knows I love steamboat very much; my BIG day huh, so must eat whatever I like most…wakakaka!

This photo is showing before we make any order; the steamboat pot and other accessories.

After we have make our order, the “things” come in stacks; altogether 10 stacks.

Placing all the food on the table; the most far end start from left side is enoki mushroom, young corns, chicken meat balls, glass noodles, enoki mushroom (again), seaweed, mushroom, unknown (sorry, I don’t know how to call), prawn and crab meat sticks.

Oppss…one more to come! Come a bit late …well it is fish meat. So, we ordered 11 stacks.

Ok, after all the “things” is ready on our table, we put half of the food in to the pot! Let it cooked for about 5 min, and then it is time we wallop…hah! Another half of the food will be our 2nd round.

Finally, all the food is “garbage in” to our stomach already. And the last one is our dessert; honeydew ice with coconut milk. Very tasty!

After eating, we do our “marketing” - shopping at Jusco. About 4:30pm we reached home. Feeling tired and I take a short nap. What next after wake up???? Stay tune and please follow me for the next programme.

Movie Again!

How I passed my weekend? Well, on Saturday (27 Jun 09), me and hubby have a movie watching at Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) – Queensbay Mall. Guess, what movie we watched? Of course is “Transformer” la!

Well, the movie is shown at Cinema#1 and our seat is D04 and D05. The whole cinema is full house on that day! The actual time for the movie to start playing is at 12:30pm and end at 3:00pm (2.5hrs show). Quite a long movie, sit until my backside also pain; keep turning my backside to left and right to release the pain…hahaha! Overall, the movie is quite nice, better than Terminator – a lot, a lot!

As usual, we sure will buy pop corns and mineral water to enjoy our movie.

This is the poster that displayed outside the cinema. Just to share with you all.

These two are the flip posters. If I stand at one angle, I saw the transformer's picture. But if I stand at the other angle, it turns to the truck and car (like below photo).

Have you watch already this movie? How do you feel about this movie?

A Very Good Message

#3 - Lord, it's too heavy...Please cut it down a little...

#7 - Lord, please cut it down a little more...I'll be able to carry it better...

#9 - Lord, thank you so much...
#11 - Huh?
#12 - Let's use this as a bridge and cross over...

#13 - Ahh! It's too short I can't cross...

Moral of the story:
No Pain No Gain… Accept the pain, future will be fruitful… Don't feel the work you are doing is pain, because there will be always a reason for that pain or work. So face the pain, for the pain you face, there will be definitely happiness ahead.

My Birthday Present-June 2009

Last Sunday, I get one unit of Philips Docking Entertainment System DCM250.

Before I get this unit, I look for iPod and the speaker complete with docking system. All these complete set will need to spend roughly RM1800++! Well to me, the price is not worth the sounds quality. Therefore, I’m not looking into iPod anymore!

I switch my objective to look for other alternative of audio system. At last when I shopped in Harvey Norman, I saw the above unit, I asked the salesman to play a few songs for me to listen, and to my surprise the sounds quality is good – meet my expectation! And the best part is the features are all suit to my taste and the price is reasonable. So end up I get a unit…well, my dear hubby, this can be considered as my birthday present already!

A little introduction of DCM250:
* Play MP3-CD, WMA-CD, CD-R/RW
* USB Direct connection to portable USB MP3 player
* Listen to radio stations
* Listen to the iPod/iPhone (just load it to the dock)
* Enjoy video from iPod/iPhone to TV

Note: DCM250 support iPod classic, iPod touch, iPod nano, iPod 5th generation (video), iPod with color display, iPod mini, iPhone and iPhone 3G.

This photo is showing the dimensions. Oh yah, the weight: 3.32kg and the height: 14cm.

This photo is showing the real unit.

Well, this unit is like “one stone kills many birds” because it can play so many types of media. Agree?

Durian Tea Time

Now in Penang is durian season. We can easily find durian stalls everywhere here. Yesterday, Sunday (7 Jun 09), hubby and I have our “Durian” teatime. Both of us feel hungry at about 3pm, and then we decided to go to durian stalls to eat durian. Total we ate 3 durians and cost us RM64 overall. Each of us is provided with one cup of drinking water and the “boss” is giving us some mangosteen for free.

This durian is called "Ho Low" in hokkien dialect.

This durian is called "XO" in hokkien dialect too!

Sorry, forget about what this durian is called.

These are the mangosteen that giving to us for free.

Hmmm…all the 3 durians are so yummy! Sorry for those that cannot take durian yah, I think this post must be very “torture” for you to see…hah!

Oh yah, have you eat durian this season?

Movie-Watching At Cinema

Last Saturday (29 May), hubby and I again went to GSC (Golden Screen Cinema) Queensbay Mall (QB) to have movie-watching. We watched "Terminator Salvation". The movie starts at 7:10pm and finished at 8:40pm.

Well, I’m not really like the show. Out of 5 stars, I rate it to 2.5 stars. What about you?

Hubby Poor Car

This incident happen to us last Tuesday (19 May 09). Right after we both finished our dinner at one of the coffee shop, we walked towards to get our car. At that moment, with a sudden, hubby noticed at the back of his car got one “hole” (see the red circle in photo). The whole metal lock is gone!

Oh gosh! Someone is trying to break-in our car! When it happen??!!!! Where it happen??!!! We both have no idea at all…but of course it is not happen during the moment at coffee shop as our car is just parked right in front only!

Anyway, things already happen, the only way is to fix it. It took us RM135RM135RM135 to replace a new lock! Oh boy…that is expensive! What to do, we still have to fix it, poor thing!

Note:
In fact, there is no point for this “stupid” thief to break-in our car. First, we do not have any valuable things inside this car. He could just use a torchlight to see through the whole car from the glass windows at one glance as this is a 4W drive car and there’s no bonnet to keep any valuable thing! Secondly, we not even change the car player into DVD player. It is still a cassette player (very outdated huh!). So what for, he still waste his energy to “dig”; to “knock” the lock?!!!!

Souvenir From China

Last two weeks, hubby friends who are the Penang Kite Association have went to Weifang, China to represent Malaysia to demonstrate on the "stunt kite" performances during the Weifang Kite Festival. One of the friends, Mr.Azemi bought us some souvenirs from China that are a pair of nice chopstick and a small handcraft kite. He also gave us 2 packets of the instant noodles that taste delicious.

2 pairs of chopstick which is nicely place in the red wooden box.

This is the handcraft display kite with size (85mm X 85mm).

What a delicious instant noodle from China!

100 Yen (¥) Shop In Penang

I just want to show here some good items that I found at 100 Yen shop in Penang some time back.

I haven’t use the wet tissue for stain removal on shirt (photo #1) yet so I do not know how effective it is. But, the wet tissue for wiping toilet bowl, photo #2 (antibacterial with alcohol contain), is very useful for me as we all know how bad our public toilet is over here. So with this around me, it eases the “yucky” feeling when I’m using public toilet. It has 2 different sizes of packaging, I purposely bought the smaller size as is just nice to put inside my bag.

There is another type of tissue which is called “Paper Shampoo”. I do not buy this item, therefore none photo can be shown here. It is for the purpose of removing the bad smell that stain on our hair.

Hubby wanted to try out this instant noodle so we bought one packet for trying.

Due to the bad condition of public toilet over here, I prefer using squat type rather than sitting type. What about you, all female out there? Can shares your view?

My Nephew "Ben-10" Cake

Vivian, I’m so sorry for the delay in posting up the “Ben-10” cake for you to see. Here you go…

On 29 Mar 2009 (Sunday), my second sister is having a small party for her youngest son who aged 5. He likes “Ben-10” very much and requested his mom to order the birthday cake with “Ben-10” in design. My sister likes to order cake from Cake Story, Sungai Nibong, so off she goes to Cake Story to order the cake on Saturday. In fact, she wants to order the cake with full size of “Ben-10” but that need to be order at least 2kg cake. Anyway, my sister just needs 1kg cake only, so she can just get this type of design (see the cake below). Hah! My nephew is so happy when seeing his “Ben-10” cake on Sunday.

Well, on the table we have KFC, red chicken eggs, cake, and curry chicken. While I was snapping this photo, the fried noodles, fried bihun and nuggets are still in the kitchen and haven’t take out yet!

This is the birthday boy.

Pesta Pulau Pinang 2008 - Part V

I’m so sorry to all my readers that I missing in action for quite some time. Allow me to continue the last episode of Pesta Pulau Pinang 2008. Here with me, there are two more photos to share on related to games stalls at Pesta.

Besides the stalls that I mentioned from Part I till Part IV, not forgotten to mention over there in Pesta, we have:

Little Thailand – sell of those Thailand products including bags, shoes, clothes, jewelry and crystal, Thai food and more. I manage to buy a few kinds of bags in this Little Thailand.

Little Indonesia – sell of those Indonesia products including bags, clothes, handcrafts and more. I bought the Markisa drinks from this booth.

Fish Spa – where in this shop, people can do their foot massage by the fishes.

Plants nursery – Jabatan Pertanian (Penang Agriculture Department) is also having a booth in Pesta. They are giving away the fertilizer and plant seeds and I get one bag from them. Inside the bag consists of fertilizers and plants seed (namely are Chili, Sawi, Corns, and Lady Fingers).

In future if anyone of you planning to visit Penang, you can always arrange it in December as Pesta Pulau Pinang will be held every year in the month of December.
